Mounsef Bakr, the Croatian Dinamo Zagreb player, is preparing with a decision to conclude his career with the team, before moving to Al Ahly Club during the current summer transfer window.
"Yalla Koura" had confirmed two days ago that Al Ahly Club has put the final touches on the deal to sign Mounsef Bakr, as part of bolstering its squad during the current summer.
Croatian press reports indicate that Al Ahly Club has agreed to delay the Algerian striker's joining its ranks until Dinamo Zagreb plays its two matches in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League against Swiss side Thun.
Dinamo Zagreb will face Swiss side Thun on July 21 in the first leg of the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League, while the return leg will be played on the 28th of the same month.
The Croatian newspaper Germanik reported that Bakr will not play in the outright striker position during the team's upcoming match against Thun as usual, but will instead be deployed on the right wing to exploit his great speed and powerful runs, the same role occupied by Al Ahly player Ahmed Sayed Zizo.
The report noted that Mounsef Bakr is the most prominent option for the right-wing position, given the absence of winger Matija Ljesić for most of the preparation period and the lack of readiness of the new signing Dani Rodríguez yet.
It added: "The Algerian player is about to leave Dinamo Zagreb, as he will move to Al Ahly after the match against Thun, and in such cases, the question remains about his mental state—whether he is still ready to give his best or will be plagued by hesitation, preoccupied with the Cairo deal instead of the pitch?"
The Croatian newspaper Germanik concluded: "It seems that Bakr was somewhat reserved during the preparation period, but that does not mean he will be the same against Thun; the matter is up to the coach to assess his readiness, and there is no doubt that these transfer announcements pose a potential risk to the Blues."
