Mohamed Hany reveals the goal of the Egyptian national team before the 2026 World Cup

Mohamed Hani, the right-back for Egypt's national team and Al-Ahly, clarified that the Pharaohs players wanted not to exit in the early rounds of the 2026 World Cup.

The Egyptian national team fell to its Argentine counterpart in the round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup, with a score of 3-2, on Tuesday evening.

Mohamed Hani said in statements during the Egyptian national team players having lunch with President Sisi today, Saturday: "These are the happiest moments of my life, all the players wanted to achieve a single goal, we did not want to exit in the early rounds of the World Cup".

He continued: "I thank all the players and I am proud to be in the World Cup, I hope to live up to my teammates' expectations".

He added: "God willing, this is the beginning for us, our goal is to achieve more in the future, I thank Hossam Hassan and Ibrahim Hassan".

The 30-year-old player scored two own goals during the 2026 World Cup, against Belgium and Australia respectively.
