Hani said via MBC Egypt: "I felt that we were playing in Egypt because of the large number of fans attending the matches, and I was surprised by the number of fans who received us at Alamein Airport, and therefore I feel very proud".

He added, "The thinking of all the players was to qualify from the group stage and not to play 3 matches and return to Egypt".

He continued, "It is a very difficult feeling to score a goal into your own net, and I do not remember scoring own goals like what happened to me in the World Cup, and it was very difficult for me and I always take responsibility".

He confirmed, "I would have felt angry if I had not defended with my teammates for the Egyptian national team goal and escaped from this defensive situation, and not to score an own goal while defending, and the most important thing is how I return after this goal".

He revealed, "Before the match against Argentina, I was surprised that Messi was coming from behind to shake hands with Mohamed Salah".

He confirmed, "The presence of Mohamed Salah with us makes us feel confident, and Salah's relationship with Hossam Hassan is very wonderful and the captain deliberately places him in a great position because he is a great value to Egypt".

He explained, "We played the first half excellently against Argentina, and Hossam Hassan held 4 video lectures with us in preparation for this match, and in the second half we maintained the good level but in the end negative things happened away from the refereeing that caused our loss after we were affected by our religion".

He pointed out, "I wished to win against Belgium and we presented a wonderful match, and I was praying not to lose so that I would not be the reason for the loss, and also against Australia I was asking my teammates to score the penalties so that we would win".

He clarified, "I could not believe that we lost to Argentina, we were supposed to win, how do we lose while we were leading 2-0 until the 80th minute, it would have been possible to accept the defeat if we had lost from the beginning but we presented a historic match against the world champion and were leading him by two goals and the referee canceled a third goal for us we do not know why".

He added, "We asked one of the referees about the case of canceling the goal against Argentina, and he told us that FIFA gave them instructions not to return to the video for any defensive error case if a goal is scored".

He concluded his statements, "Hossam Hassan during the Australia match did not know that I was the one who scored the own goal, he thought that the Australian defender was the one who scored the goal, but after the match he spoke to me and praised me".
