Ahmed Hossam Mido, former member of the planning committee at Zamalek Club, launched a fierce attack against some individuals, describing them as fraudsters who wanted to seize control of the club without naming them.
The Zamalek board of directors made several decisions, most notably accepting the resignation of John Edward, the sports director.
Ahmed Hossam "Mido", former member of the planning committee at Zamalek, wrote on X: "Zamalek Club has fallen into the hands of a handful of fraudsters who tried to take control of the football sector, buy it for a cheap price, and then sell it for billions of dollars".
He added: "History will record our stance rejecting the fraud the club was subjected to. As I told you before, Zamalek has owners, and no one can bargain over it. Zamalek is strong thanks to its great fans".

Mido was part of a group that rejected giving investors a larger share than the Zamalek board in the football company file.

The Zamalek board of directors also issued an official statement regarding the reversal of establishing the football company or halting its operations.
Zamalek is participating in the African Champions League as Egyptian League champions after obtaining the African license.
Zamalek returns to the Champions League after a 3-year absence, during which it participated in the Confederation Cup, winning the title in 2024 and losing the 2026 final.
