Roberto Ayala, a member of the Argentine national team's technical staff, apologized following the unfortunate events that followed the World Cup final against Spain, and his quarrel with La Roja star, Dani Olmo.

Ayala assaulted Olmo and punched the latter in the neck, in a series of unsportsmanlike events following the World Cup final, as Argentine player Leandro Paredes also clashed with Gavi, Barcelona and Spain star.

Ayala said in statements reported by the newspaper "Sport": "Certainly I am sorry, I cannot allow my feelings to affect my mood, but for me, these are matters that remain inside the field."

This shot tarnished Ayala's reputation, who played in Spain for many years with Valencia Club and among the legends of the Bats, as this behavior is not known about the former defender.

Ayala explained the reason for his intervention in the quarrel between the Spanish and Argentine players, as he added: "My intention was to separate them, nothing more, that was a reaction to some words, but this is not an excuse, my behavior should have been different, if I see Dani Olmo, I will apologize and clearly I regret that, I cannot allow my feelings to affect my mood, but for me, these are matters that remain inside the field."

Ayala congratulated Spain on winning the World Cup, as he concluded: "Spain was superior to us and deserved the title."
