According to the Opta network specialized in statistics, Mbappé shot 23 balls on target during the 2026 World Cup competitions, becoming the owner of the largest number of shots in one edition of the tournament since the Portuguese legend Eusébio, who recorded 29 shots in the 1966 World Cup.
The French star Kylian Mbappé was able to maintain the lead in the scoring ranking of the 2026 World Cup, to win the Golden Boot award, following the end of the tournament with Argentina's loss to Spain.
