According to the Opta network specialized in statistics, Mbappé shot 23 balls on target during the 2026 World Cup competitions, becoming the owner of the largest number of shots in one edition of the tournament since the Portuguese legend Eusébio, who recorded 29 shots in the 1966 World Cup.
