Marmoush wrote on his Instagram account: "No one represents his country without leaving a piece of his heart on the pitch, and there is no greater honor than representing Egypt."
He added: "We are a generation that still has a lot to offer, and we will continue to work to raise Egypt's name and bring it to the status it deserves."
He continued: "Thank you to everyone who supported, criticized, and believed."
