Tottenham Hotspur technical director Roberto De Zerbi revealed that the London club is close to concluding a new deal he described as a "bombshell" during the summer transfer window.
Tottenham had spent around £237 million in the current mercato, after signing Sandro Tonali in a deal worth £100 million, and previously acquiring Matheus Fernandes for £85 million.
Tottenham expects to finalize the signing of Manchester City winger Savinho in the coming weeks, but De Zerbi hinted that another attacking deal could be completed before the Brazilian player's arrival.
De Zerbi admires Marmoush
According to football.london, Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi is a big admirer of Manchester City player Omar Marmoush.
The report added that the Italian coach hinted at the possibility of a heavyweight attacking deal, described as potentially a "bombshell" in the summer transfer market, as Tottenham's management continues to study available options to strengthen the squad.
Roberto De Zerbi said the club has not yet finished its moves in the transfer market, confirming that a new attacking deal is on the way, stating in remarks to the English website: "In the transfer market, when I want a player, I become like a shark... there is no chance of rejecting my request."
He added: "The transfer market is certainly not over, but we have completed about 60% of our project in the mercato, and now we have another bombshell."
De Zerbi confirmed that the expected deal will be to strengthen the attacking line, and when asked whether the deal is close to completion, he replied: "I hope so, but the matter has not been finalized yet."
