Enzo Maresca, Manchester City's technical manager, confirmed that the team does not need major changes during the summer transfer window, while also noting that there are some files the club is seeking to finalize before the start of the 2026-2027 season.
Maresca said in statements to Manchester City's official website: "Fortunately, this group does not need a lot of changes".
He added: "We know we have lost important players with great experience like Bernardo, John, and Nathan, each of whom had different qualities, and certainly there are things we need to do".
The Italian coach clarified that the club's management is following the transfer files on a daily basis, saying: "Hugo Viana is here, as is Ferran Soriano, and we talk every day to see if we need to do something".
He continued: "The transfer market is still open, and when it is open anything can happen. We are in August, and after the market closes in September the situation will be completely different".
Regarding the team's condition, Maresca revealed that Ryan McAido will miss the next match due to a shoulder injury he sustained during the friendly against Inter.
He added: "Ryan McAido performed well, as did the rest of the players, but he will miss tomorrow's match due to a minor shoulder issue, and there is no cause for concern".
Manchester City's coach praised the club's academy, saying: "City's academy continues to produce outstanding players, and this gives us enthusiasm".
In closing his remarks, Maresca confirmed that he has begun to see development in the team's performance since taking charge, explaining: "We are working on developing our defensive and attacking style, while implementing new tactical ideas and patterns".
