The Italian Enzo Maresca, technical director of Manchester City's first football team, spoke about the reality of Egyptian international star Omar Marmoush's departure, following his brilliance and scoring two goals in the Sky Blues' victory over Atletico Madrid.
"Seoul World Cup" Stadium hosted the match between English side Manchester City and Spanish side Atletico Madrid, which ended with a 3-1 victory for Enzo Maresca's men.
Manchester City have played two friendly matches so far, losing the first on penalties to Inter Milan, while defeating the stars of the Korean League.
Egyptian star Omar Marmoush scored a wonderful brace against Atletico Madrid, netting the first and second goals past goalkeeper Oblak.
Maresca said in remarks to "City Extra": "Marmoush's departure? The answer should be the same one I gave regarding James Trafford; the players work every day and want to play, so when they don't feature, they aren't happy".
He added: "Omar didn't play much last year, so it's likely he wants more minutes on the pitch".
He concluded: "That doesn't mean he won't get more minutes here if he stays with us, but the decision is his and it's important to understand exactly what he decides".
It is worth noting that previous reports indicated Tottenham Hotspur's strong interest in signing Omar Marmoush at the behest of Italian coach Roberto De Zerbi, who is restructuring the squad ahead of the new season.
