According to the newspaper, the deal is worth 25 million euros in addition to bonuses, making it the largest sale in Rayo Vallecano's history, with the official announcement expected in the coming hours after final touches between the two clubs.

The report indicated that Rayo Vallecano was insisting on a higher amount, especially since the player's release clause stands at 50 million euros, before the two parties reached a final agreement with the London club.

Chelsea is seeking an alternative at left-back after Marc Cucurella's transfer to Real Madrid during the current summer transfer window.

Chavarría delivered his best season with Rayo Vallecano, featuring in 44 matches across various competitions, scoring one goal and providing three assists, attracting interest from several major European clubs.

Marca clarified that Bayer Leverkusen also expressed interest in signing the player, but Chavarría preferred a move to the English Premier League, where he will work again under manager Xabi Alonso at Chelsea.

The newspaper added that the Spanish full-back has already arrived in the British capital London and is expected to compensate for Marc Cucurella's departure to Real Madrid, competing with Dutchman Jorrel Hato for the left-back position.

Chavarría's career has taken him through clubs Figueres, Olot, and Real Zaragoza, before shining with Rayo Vallecano, earning him the opportunity to move to Chelsea in the biggest step of his professional career.
