Argentine Franco Mastantuono is close to leaving Real Madrid during the current summer transfer window, after reaching an agreement with Fiorentina to move to their ranks on loan.

According to the Spanish newspaper Marca, Mastantuono has been absent from Real Madrid's group training for the second consecutive day, and sufficed with training inside the gym, awaiting the completion of the details of his transfer to the Italian club.
The report indicated that the player is not suffering from any injury, and that his absence comes due to the imminent finalization of the loan deal, after he agreed to Fiorentina's project following meetings with coach Fabio Grosso and sporting director Fabio Paratici.
The report clarified that Fiorentina was the first club to request to loan the player, ahead of other Italian Serie A clubs, and convinced him by offering a starting role and regular playing time, which Real Madrid was unable to guarantee at the present time.
The only remaining matter is the agreement on splitting the player's salary between the two clubs, which represents the final details of the deal before its official announcement in the coming days.
The newspaper added that Jose Mourinho was impressed by Mastantuono's potential, but the technical staff and Real Madrid management concluded that his opportunities for regular starts would be limited, so the club preferred his departure on loan to gain experience and secure more playing time.
Mastantuono joined Real Madrid at the start of last season from River Plate.
The Argentine winger has featured in 35 matches so far in a Real Madrid shirt and managed to score 3 goals and provide 1 assist.
