The English club Manchester United announced the return of Cameroonian goalkeeper André Onana to the Turkish team Trabzonspor on loan.
Manchester United had opened the door for André Onana to move to Trabzonspor, where he played for them throughout last season on a loan basis.
Manchester United renews Onana's loan to Trabzonspor
The Red Devils announced on the official website: "Manchester United goalkeeper André Onana has joined Trabzonspor on loan until the end of the 2026/27 season."
Man United added: "The deal was completed after obtaining international approvals and successfully registering during the current summer transfer window, allowing the Cameroonian international to return to Papara Park."
Trabzonspor will cover most of the 30-year-old goalkeeper's salary, and his loan contract does not include any clauses allowing for contract termination or repurchase.
This means that Onana will return to "Old Trafford" in the summer of 2027, with only one year remaining on his contract with United.
Onana participated in 40 matches during his loan period to the team in the Turkish Super League last season 2025/2026.
The Cameroonian international goalkeeper contributed to Trabzonspor securing third place in the league competition, in addition to winning the Turkish Cup.
Onana had previously joined Manchester United in the summer of 2023, coming from the Italian club Inter Milan, and has 102 matches to his credit.
