Press reports revealed that Manchester City Club is adopting a stalling tactic with its counterpart Real Madrid regarding the possibility of the team's star, Rodri, transferring to "Santiago Bernabeu" during the current summer transfer window.
Real Madrid has concluded 5 deals in the summer transfer window so far, but it is still looking for more under the leadership of coach Jose Mourinho, including Rodri.
Real Madrid has shown a strong desire to obtain the services of the Spanish midfielder, especially after his role in crowning Luis de la Fuente's squad with the World Cup title that summer.
Famous journalist Fabrizio Romano mentioned that Manchester City is delaying the response to Real Madrid's offer to sign Rodri, which is estimated at 50 million euros.

He explained that the reason behind this is that Manchester City feels that other clubs may join the race to sign Rodri, and thus his price rises more compared to the current situation.
He stated that there have already been talks between Real Madrid and Manchester City officials yesterday, Thursday, but the English club wants to wait for some time to see if other clubs want to ignite the competition, which would result in demanding a larger amount.
Rodri has been linked with other clubs in the past days, such as Spanish Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain, but it is not known whether that interest is serious like it is with Real Madrid or just an inquiry.
He stressed that the final say in this matter belongs to Rodri, especially since it is known that he wants to transfer to Real Madrid, and therefore, even if he receives other offers, he might reject them all for the Royal.
