Liverpool continues its moves in the summer transfer market, with the club eager to complete new deals before the window closes.
According to the British network "Sky Sports," Liverpool is targeting two deals before the transfer window shuts, aiming to reinforce the attacking line and compensate for the departure of several key players, most notably Mohamed Salah.
Liverpool has placed Frenchman Bradley Barcola, Paris Saint-Germain's winger, and Gambian Yankuba Minteh, Brighton's player, at the top of its priority list, with work continuing on both deals ahead of the market deadline.
Barcola is Liverpool's primary target to bolster the left wing, after the club held talks with Paris Saint-Germain regarding the player, in addition to contacting his representatives. Paris Saint-Germain values Barcola at approximately £145 million, while Liverpool is currently unwilling to reach
that figure, meaning negotiations require new developments in the final days of the transfer window.
As for Minteh, he represents another option to strengthen the wings, but Liverpool has hit a wall with Brighton's firm stance, as the club rejected offers of £50 million and £60 million, deeming them insufficient for the 22-year-old's valuation.
The Minteh deal is further complicated by the player's injury, which is expected to keep him out of action until October, but this has not deterred Liverpool from continuing its interest, given the club's focus on reinforcing the wing positions during the transfer window.
Liverpool has already signed Victor Munoz from Osasuna, but the club is seeking to add further options to its attacking line, especially following Salah's departure, with manager Andoni Iraola desiring greater depth before entering the new season's competitions.
With only a few days remaining until the transfer window closes on September 1st, Liverpool's management faces a difficult task in finalizing one or more deals, particularly as Barcola's high price tag and Brighton's refusal to part with Minteh make the final hours crucial in determining the number of new signings the club will complete.
