The Tunisian club Espérance is close to concluding the deal for Brazilian Lucas Ribeiro, player of the Libyan club Al-Ittihad, to join the ranks of "Bab Souika" during the current summer transfer window.
The past days witnessed a state of ambiguity surrounding Ribeiro's deal, amid complications that emerged from the Libyan club, before the deal returned to the right track toward the player's transfer to the "Bab Souika" team.
According to the Tunisian newspaper "Al-Sabah", Libya's Al-Ittihad Tripoli club agreed to Ribeiro's departure after the intervention of prominent figures from the Libyan club to facilitate the player's transfer to the Tunisian team.
The Tunisian newspaper added that Espérance is expected to announce the deal in the coming hours, ending the controversy over player Ribeiro's file.
Ribeiro had previously been linked with a move to Al-Ahly club, as the player possesses a strong resume after playing for South African side Mamelodi Sundowns.
The 27-year-old Ribeiro played 88 matches for Sundowns, scoring 37 goals and providing 23 assists.
