Lewandowski equalized for Chicago Fire just two minutes later with a low shot from outside the penalty area.
The Polish star scored the winning goal for Chicago Fire in the 68th minute, capitalizing on a pass from Robin Lod inside the penalty area to go one-on-one with the goalkeeper and slot the ball into the net.
The win lifted Chicago Fire to 29 points in fourth place in the Eastern Conference standings of Major League Soccer, while Charlotte remained on 25 points in seventh place.
