RB Leipzig German club denied reaching an agreement with Spanish Real Madrid regarding the transfer of the Ivorian Yan Diomande, despite reports that circulated in the past hours about the deal being close to being concluded for the Royal Club.
Media reports had talked about the possibility of completing the deal for about 132 million euros, consisting of 122 million euros as a fixed amount, in addition to 10 million euros as variables.
However, Marcel Schäfer, the executive director of RB Leipzig, confirmed that talking about completing the deal officially is incorrect, stressing that the negotiations have not yet reached the stage of a final agreement between the two clubs, in statements reported by the "Sky" network in its German version.
The network indicated that Schäfer's statements came as a direct response to the news published by Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, which states that the player's transfer has become certain.
The 19-year-old Ivorian player had transferred to Leipzig in the summer of 2025 from Leganés for 20 million euros, with a contract extending until June 2030.
Diomande scored 13 goals and provided 10 decisive passes during 36 matches in all competitions in the 2025-2026 season.
