Legal crisis threatens Diomande's transfer to Real Madrid

Via Btolat

Press reports have revealed the reason behind the delay in Real Madrid club's official announcement of its signing of Leipzig player Yan Diomande during the current 2026 summer transfer window.

Real Madrid continues its intense activity in the current summer transfer window, having signed 5 new players and continuing its search for new targets, including Yan Diomande.

While various press reports recently confirmed that Real Madrid successfully concluded the Diomande deal, it has not yet been officially announced.

Spanish newspaper AS reported that the reason for the delay in announcing the Diomande deal stems from a dispute between the player's agents, involving Max Gradil of Maxidel Management and Roc Nation, owned by rapper Jay-Z.

It explained that Roc Nation currently manages Diomande's affairs, but Maxidel has filed a complaint with FIFA accusing its counterpart of breaching the contract, as Real Madrid negotiated with the other mentioned party.

Maxidel was responsible for Diomande's transfer to Leipzig from Leganes last summer.

It stated that the dispute between the two companies is not merely an internal matter or a simple issue, but could affect Diomande's transfer to Real Madrid, and according to FIFA regulations, it may significantly impact the registration of the Ivorian player.

It noted that this situation was unknown to Real Madrid, and that everything happening is beyond their control, requiring them to overcome the crisis at the present time while believing in the soundness of their position and their eventual success in concluding the deal.

It added that the solution may involve granting Diomande a temporary license until the issue of part of the transfer fees is resolved, although the FIFA problem remains, as it is a body that is extremely strict in its regulations regarding agent practices and player representation agencies.

It confirmed that FIFA has already received the complaint and is reviewing it, and it has the authority to reject the entry of any transfer deal into the approved system and to issue the famous international transfer certificate if there is an ongoing dispute between agents over the representation rights of the player in question.

The newspaper explained the origin of the conflict between the two companies, noting that Maxidel, as mentioned, was behind Diomande's transfer to Leipzig and holds the authorization to negotiate with the German club regarding his affairs.

Meanwhile, Diomande wished to become one of the prominent new promising faces on Roc Nation's roster a few months ago, and took advantage of his vacation in the United States after the World Cup to visit the company's offices in New York.

Real Madrid conducted negotiations with Roc Nation and is currently awaiting a quick resolution to end the dispute between the agents, while Diomande is currently in Leipzig awaiting the completion of his transfer to the Santiago Bernabéu.
