The Egyptian Handball Federation revealed the dates of the first stage matches of the Professional Handball League for the 2026-2027 season.
The first stage matches of the Professional Handball League are held in a two-group system, where the 18 teams are divided into two groups, with each group containing 9 teams.
The Egyptian Handball Federation stated in its statement issued via its official Facebook page that matches of some clubs participating in international and continental championships were postponed in line with their external commitments.
Al Ahly and Zamalek will participate in the Handball Club World Championship scheduled to be held in the New Administrative Capital in Egypt from September 24 to October 1, 2026.
Al Ahly, the defending champions, are in the first group, which includes Smouha, Tala'ea El Gaish, Al Gezira, Al Olympi, Heliopolis, As'hab Al Jayad, Ittihad El Shorta, and Al Mokaweloon Al Arab.
While Zamalek is in the second group, which includes alongside it Sporting, Al Ahly Bank, Al Shams, Al Zahour, Al Maadi, Al Qanah, Al Tayaran, and El Minya.
