The Egyptian Football Association published photos of the launch of the elite referees' preparation camp for the 2026-2027 sports season, held at the National Teams Center in 6th of October City, coinciding with Al-Ahly Club's statement against the Football Association and the Referees Committee.
Al-Ahly Club had clarified in an official statement addressing the Egyptian Football Association, objecting to the appointment of Essam Abdel Fattah as head of the Referees Committee for the new season, in addition to the statements of Mahmoud Ashour and Jihad Grisha, which confirmed that Al-Ahly was wronged in the past season after a penalty was awarded against Ceramica Cleopatra in the final stage of the competition for the title.
The main Referees Committee, headed by Essam Abdel Fattah, held a meeting with the referees before the start of the camp activities, during which the work plan for the upcoming period was explained, and the importance of commitment and continuous development was emphasized, in preparation for the new season.
For his part, Abdel Fattah affirmed the importance of developing the refereeing system and raising the level of referees in the upcoming period, pointing to his confidence in all referees, and confirming that the Referees Committee includes elements with great efficiency and experience in the field of refereeing.
The camp witnessed the delivery of a number of technical lectures for the referees, with the participation of Jamal Al-Ghandour and Samir Othman, the vice presidents of the committee, and Jihad Ahmed and Mahmoud Ashour, members of the committee, to clarify the latest developments in the laws of the game and raise the readiness of the referees for the new season.
