Ahmed Magdy, the former Zamalek club defender, has settled on moving to the ranks of Petrojet Asyut team during the current summer transfer period.
Zamalek Club had issued a decisive decision to dispense with a number of young players, led by Ahmed Magdy, Ayman Amir Abdel Aziz, and Anas Wael.

A source revealed to "Yalla Koura" that Ahmed Magdy has officially signed for Petrojet Asyut for the next 3 seasons in a free transfer deal, following the decision to dispense with him by the White Castle administration.
The young defender had earlier revealed the behind-the-scenes of his departure, saying: "I am Ahmed Magdy, I spent 14 years inside Zamalek Club, I joined the club since I was young through trials, and I went through more than 10 trials, and every time I would go knowing the possibility of being excluded."
He added via his account on the "Instagram" platform: "But I was confident in God's blessing, and praise be to God, I was accepted without any mediation, and throughout my football career I did not rely on anyone except my effort and God's blessing" (Read the player's full message).
On another note, Zamalek continued its preparations for the new season under the leadership of coach Moataz Jamal, amid the team's involvement in competing for more than one title, in addition to its return to participation in the African Champions League.
The technical staff decided to play 3 friendly matches as part of its preparation program, starting with a match against Plastic at 6 PM on Tuesday, August 11, at the "Club Club" stadium in the New Administrative Capital.
Zamalek will meet Orange in its second friendly at 6 PM on Thursday, August 13, at the same stadium, before concluding its friendly matches against Modern Sport on Sunday, August 16, at the secondary stadium of Cairo International Stadium.
