German football legend Jürgen Klinsmann praised the level shown by the Egyptian national team in the 2026 World Cup tournament.

Klinsmann said in statements via "FIFA": "There is no doubt that the teams that qualify from the Africa region must be strong teams, they have added a lot of joy to the tournament, presented many surprising moments and played wonderful football, and this is part of the World Cup story".
He added: "They are countries that will grow to become superpowers and have the ability to become teams that we will eventually see among the top ten national teams in the world after 15-20 years".
The German legend concluded his statements: "Egypt has always enjoyed great respect from everyone in the world, it has not yet shown that in the World Cup by reaching the semi-finals as Morocco did in 2022, but it is clear that it is always in the golden square in the Africa Cup of Nations, and has top-class players in European leagues, and that means a lot".
