Brazilian Gabriel Jesus has expressed his approval of a transfer to Napoli during the summer transfer window, but completing the deal remains linked to the departure of several team players to free up the necessary financial space and squad list.
According to the Italian newspaper "La Gazzetta dello Sport," Jesus has agreed to the idea of moving to Napoli, but the club has not yet made any official offer to Arsenal or the player, pending the resolution of Romelu Lukaku's departure file, along with one of the duo Lorenzo Lucca or Noah Lang.
Napoli currently has three strikers in the center-forward position, but Rasmus Højlund appears to be the only striker guaranteed to remain with the team after the summer transfer window closes.
Lukaku is close to leaving Napoli, amid interest from Fenerbahçe and several Major League Soccer clubs, while the club has lowered its valuation of the 33-year-old Belgian striker from 12 million euros and is now prepared to accept offers ranging between 7 and 8 million euros.
As for Lorenzo Lucca, he has been unable to prove himself since his transfer to Napoli from Udinese last summer, and he also had a difficult loan spell with Nottingham Forest during the second half of last season, where he made only 4 appearances in the Premier League.
Napoli is looking for a new striker to compete with Højlund, and Jesus tops the list of options, especially as he enters the final year of his contract with Arsenal and his role has gradually diminished within the English club's plans.
At the same time, Napoli is seeking around 25 to 30 million euros for the sale of Noah Lang, amid interest from Ajax, which could help the club secure the resources needed to pursue Jesus.
