The Italian national team defeated their host, Turkey, by four goals to one in the match that brought the two teams together on Monday evening, as part of the second round fixtures of the UEFA Nations League group stage.

Alessandro Bastoni scored the first goal for the Azzurri in the ninth minute, before Davide Frattesi added the second goal in the 22nd minute.

Michael Kayode managed to score the third goal for the visitors in the 27th minute, then Turkey reduced the deficit through Barış Yılmaz in the 47th minute, after which Francesco Pio Esposito sealed the Azzurri's fourth goal in the 50th minute.

Roberto Mancini, the technical director of the Azzurri, made seven radical changes to the lineup that started the Belgium match, including the return of Bastoni following the end of his suspension period.

The match witnessed the first appearance with the senior national team for both Kayode, the Brentford defender, and Rogers, the Aston Villa player, noting that the latter's call-up came only to compensate for Federico Dimarco's withdrawal from the squad due to injury.

With this result, the Azzurri's points total rose to 3 points in the Group One standings, marking the Italian national team's first victory after their loss against Belgium. The Azzurri now occupy third place, separated by goal difference from Belgium in second place, and by 3 points from France at the top, following the Roosters' 1-0 win over the Devils.

On the other hand, the Turkish national team remains without any points, sitting in third place in the Group One standings, having suffered two losses against both Italy and France.
