Essam Siraj, Al-Ahly's contracts manager, explained the club's reason for refusing to professionalize its players during the recently concluded summer transfer window.
Speaking on his club's channel, Essam Siraj said: "We had a specific arrangement in contract renewal negotiations based on the remaining duration of each player's contract."
Regarding Marwan Atia, he stated: "His contract extends for the next three seasons. He requested a contract renewal from me, then we went to the office and renewed it immediately."
He added, "We presented financially suitable offers to Mostafa Shobeir, Mohamed Hany, and Yasser Ibrahim, and we will see what happens."
He concluded, "The management decided against allowing any player to leave due to the failure to win trophies last season, making it difficult to permit any departures."
Al-Ahly is preparing to face their rival Smouha next Thursday in the third round of the Egyptian Premier League.
Al-Ahly defeated Sharqia, ENPPI, and ZED in the previous two rounds.
