Liverpool coach Andoni Iraola confirmed that he has become more prepared after a year of working in the English Premier League, pointing out that the team is on the right path during the preparation period for the new season.
Iraola signed a contract with Liverpool that runs until the summer of 2028 to take charge following the dismissal of Arne Slot.
Iraola said in statements via Liverpool Echo: "I think I am now better than I was last year, after gaining an extra year of experience in the English Premier League".
He continued: "The challenge now is different, as expectations have become greater, and as a coach I must adapt tactically to new circumstances. The preparatory tour is going well and I am happy, but we still need to fully integrate the experienced players; we are moving in the right direction".
Regarding Florian Wirtz, he said: "Like the rest of the players, but with Florian in particular, we need the best version of him".
He added: "We know very well what he can offer, as he fits our style of play. I see him in the position behind the striker, and we will start working with him in this role".
He revealed: "He is a complete player, and we want to add more to his abilities, and he is in an excellent mental state".
He concluded his remarks about Joe Gomez's injury by saying: "Joe is suffering from an injury, and this was clear; he will be out for several weeks".
Iraola has coached 341 matches in his managerial career, achieving 135 wins, 93 draws, and 113 losses.
