Mohamed El-Dessouky, the Farco player who scored the fastest goal in the Professional League against Brokey, is living a different experience after combining football with medical studies, and is currently undergoing his internship at the Faculty of Medicine.
El-Dessouky told FilGoal.com about the beginning of his football journey, which started from the street and school, before coaches discovered him during a school tournament and convinced his family to allow him to play for a club.
El-Dessouky said in his statements: "I couldn't go to any academy or club because my family initially didn't want that. But the coaches convinced my parents that playing football would help me achieve academic excellence."
The player began his career with Belqas, before pausing for a full year to focus on his studies, succeeding in obtaining 99% and enrolling in the Faculty of Medicine.
He added: "After that, I started forging my path in football more significantly, playing another year for Belqas, then moving to Modern Future."
El-Dessouky progressed with Modern Future until he was promoted to the first team under Ali Maher, before moving to Nour El-Sherbeya in the Professional League, then going on loan to Belqas City due to his medical studies.
Regarding his experience with Belqas City, he clarified: "It was a very distinctive experience; I contributed to the team's promotion and was their top scorer. In the following season, the club signed me permanently, and I managed to score 12 goals, becoming the top scorer across all groups in the Second Division."
El-Dessouky returned to Modern Sport for one million pounds, before going on loan to El-Sekka El-Hadid, then moving to Farco on loan, where he scored in his first match with the team.
He explained: "I felt I was being treated unfairly when I was informed that I would be going on loan again, but I believe this was God's choice and perhaps the best for me. I moved to Farco, and thank God, I scored in my first match with the team. I hope the journey culminates in promotion."
The Farco player spoke about the biggest challenge in his career, which was balancing football and medical studies, saying: "It was very difficult at many times, and I sometimes felt I wouldn't be able to continue, but God always made things easier."
He added: "I sometimes skipped an exam for a match, and sometimes skipped a match for an exam, depending on the importance of each at that time. I am always under pressure, but I consider it a responsibility. If I weren't capable of it, God wouldn't have placed me in this position."
El-Dessouky pointed to the significant role his family played in his career, especially his mother, after he lost his father at the age of nine.
He revealed: "My father passed away when I was nine years old, and my mother is everything in my life. It is true that she was against the idea of playing football when I was young, and this delayed me significantly, but I believe everything that happened was for the best and for my benefit. Today, my mother is my biggest supporter in my football journey."
El-Dessouky also thanked the coaches who supported him during his journey, saying: "Ahmed Eid and his staff, Hossam Awad, and currently Mohamed Attia. Everyone who helped me in my journey has my full appreciation and respect."
Regarding his biggest dream in football, he said: "I have always dreamed of participating in the World Cup and making a mark and leaving a legacy there."
El-Dessouky revealed his role model, clarifying: "Mohamed Abou Treika was my role model among former players, and currently Mohamed Salah."
He added: "When I return to my hometown, I feel as if I have won the World Cup, due to the intensity of people's love for me and their celebration of me, even for the simplest things. This is a huge motivation for me."
The Farco player concluded his statements by talking about the support of the fans and his family, saying: "I dedicate my goals and successes to my family, my mother and brothers, my fiancée, and my friends. I am very lucky with the love of the people in my hometown, and I feel that the whole town waits for me, whether I play, travel, return on vacation, and score goals."
