Atalanta striker Giacomo Raspadori has been confirmed to miss Italy's next two matches against France and Turkey in the UEFA Nations League due to injury.
The Italian Football Federation announced that Raspadori underwent medical examinations, before it was confirmed that he would not be fit for the remaining two matches, leading him to return to his club Atalanta to complete his recovery.
The Italian Federation said in a statement: "Raspadori underwent medical examinations, and after confirming his lack of readiness for the upcoming matches, he will return to his club."
As a result, Raspadori will miss Italy's trip to face France on Friday at the Stade de France, as well as the match against Turkey in Bologna on October 5.
Raspadori did not take part in Italy's training session, having been given full rest, while the other players returned to training in Coverciano following their return from Turkey.
Italy had previously secured a big win over Turkey with a score of 4-1 in Bursa, as part of the UEFA Nations League competition.
Roberto Mancini's tactical training sessions for the match against France were postponed until Wednesday's practice, as the Italian team focused on preparing for the next game.
Raspadori's absence represents a blow to Italy, especially since the team's attacking line had been under discussion following the loss to Belgium, before the big win over Turkey helped calm the situation.
Mancini is expected to make new changes to Italy's lineup during the upcoming match against Turkey in Bologna, with the possibility of resting some of the players who will feature against France.
