Manchester United is threatened with having to wait several weeks before seeing new signing Carlos Baleba in the team's shirt, due to an injury suffered by the Cameroonian midfielder, which could delay his debut until next October.
Reports indicated that 22-year-old Baleba underwent medical tests and signed his contract in preparation for completing his transfer from Brighton to Manchester United, in a deal worth approximately £65 million initially, with his official announcement expected within days.
According to the British network "Sky Sports," Baleba is currently suffering from an ankle injury and hopes to return to the pitch in mid-September, meaning he could miss some of United's matches during that period.
The report added that there is a possibility Baleba will not play for Manchester United before October, especially with the international break lasting about three weeks, which could give the player extra time to recover and adapt to his new team before playing his first official match.
The injury comes at a difficult time for United, who started their Premier League campaign with a surprising 2-0 defeat to Hull City, after the team suffered from a clear weakness in midfield despite having 72% possession.
