French club Paris Saint-Germain has officially decided to withdraw from the race to sign the Ivorian winger, Yan Diomande, who is close to joining Spanish Real Madrid, coming from German Leipzig.
Paris Saint-Germain had placed Yan Diomande at the top of its attacking priorities this summer, but withdrew from the deal due to Leipzig's high financial demands, which exceeded 100 million euros.
In addition to the amount requested by the German club, which is 120 million euros, Paris Saint-Germain also backed down due to the position of the young Ivorian player's agents.
While an agreement seemed to have been reached, reports indicated that Yan Diomande's agents changed their stance, prompting the Parisian decision-makers to finally abandon the deal rather than agree to what they considered exaggerated terms.
Paris Saint-Germain withdraws from Yan Diomande deal
Paris Saint-Germain confirmed this direction through a press statement, which stated the following: "Paris Saint-Germain has officially withdrawn its interest this evening and ended all negotiations regarding the Yan Diomande deal".
It added: "The required transfer fees, as well as the financial demands, were extremely exaggerated and likely to disrupt market balance, and therefore Paris Saint-Germain will not deviate from its principles of prudent financial management and squad balance".
The French club continued: "As the two-time Champions League winner and the most decorated club in recent years, Paris Saint-Germain will not be drawn into exaggerated valuations and the maneuvers of some intermediaries".
It concluded: "The French club will continue its transfer market strategy calmly and confidently", opening the door for Real Madrid to seal the signing of the young Ivorian talent.
