Ibrahim Hassan, the director of the Egyptian national team, expressed his gratitude to the fans, who were keen to support and back the team, following the exit from the 2026 World Cup.
The Egyptian national team bid farewell to the 2026 World Cup competitions from the round of 16, after losing to Argentina by three goals to two.
The Egyptian national team delegation arrived in Egyptian territory, following the conclusion of its participation in the World Cup competitions, where it received a grand popular reception at Alamein International Airport.

Ibrahim Hassan said during statements on the "On Sports" channel: "Praise be to God for everything, we are grateful for the great support from the fans, we expected the popular support and we did our utmost for them".
He added: "We tried to present a better performance and results in the World Cup, but the matter was beyond our control in the end".
He continued: "We are happy with the support of the Egyptian community in America and Canada, especially since the team restored the enthusiasm of the fans, particularly the young supporters".
He went on: "Football and sports in general give the supporter an additional incentive to love and encourage the homeland, in order to excel in all fields and not just sports".
He continued: "Our fans were the largest and best at the World Cup, given the massive attendance from all states and cities, whether in America or Canada".
He added: "We were affected and felt great sadness after bidding farewell to the World Cup, especially after taking a two-goal lead against Argentina, but we lost in the end due to external interventions".
Ibrahim Hassan pointed out: "We received a lot of support, backing, and apologies in America after the loss to Argentina, because we exited the tournament honorably and due to an external actor".
He continued: "We used to tell the players to forget returning to Egypt early, because our first ambition is to reach the farthest possible stage in the World Cup
He noted that: "Hossam Hassan studied all of the Egyptian national team's opponents in detail and exerted great effort throughout the Pharaohs' journey in the World Cup".
He concluded: "God rewarded us after a long wait, and justice and appreciation were commensurate with the effort we exerted and the tremendous achievement we reached, and our intention was sincere in loving Egypt".
