Zamalek Club continues to arrange its affairs during the current hours, following the decision to accept the resignation submitted by John Edward, the sports director of the Whites.
The Board of Directors of Zamalek Club, headed by Hussein Labib, had taken a number of decisions regarding the club's football sector yesterday evening, Tuesday, as part of preparations for the new season.
Among the most prominent of those decisions was accepting the resignation of John Edward, the sports director of Zamalek, while thanking him for the period he spent inside the club in appreciation of the effort he exerted during his tenure, along with holding a honoring ceremony befitting what he presented to the club.
A source inside Zamalek Club confirmed in exclusive statements to Yalla Koura that Hussein Al-Sayed, a member of the Board of Directors, is close to supervising the football team during the coming period.
The source indicated that Hussein Al-Sayed will assume the roles that John Edward was scheduled to perform, with the new sports director to be announced within the next few days.
Zamalek had announced keeping Moatamed Gamal as technical director of the first football team and granting him full powers to manage the team's affairs, while providing all the necessary requirements to help him continue success after his distinguished experience last season and winning the league title.
Zamalek officials also decided that the start of the training camp for the first football team would be next Friday as part of preparations for the new season, while the Board of Directors announced that it is in permanent session to arrange matters related to football and announce the name of the new sports director for the football sector soon.
