Mostafa Shobeir, goalkeeper for Al-Ahly and the Egyptian national team, has embarked on a remarkable journey over the past seven years, during which his market value surged 80-fold since his first appearance in the red jersey, coinciding with his improved performance and securing his place in both Al-Ahly's and Egypt's plans.

Al-Ahly announced the renewal of Mostafa Shobeir's contract for two additional seasons beyond the current one, extending until the 2029 season, following his outstanding performances with the Egyptian national team at the 2026 World Cup.

The Beginning of Mostafa Shobeir's Journey.. €25,000

Mostafa Shobeir's journey with Al-Ahly's first football team began in September 2019; at that time, his market value was €25,000, and he was 19 years old.

In November 2020, Shobeir's market value rose to €100,000, before reaching €150,000 in September 2022.

His market value then declined to €100,000 in February 2023, but rebounded four months later, climbing back to €150,000 by June 2023.

In April 2024, Shobeir's market value jumped to €400,000, before soaring to €600,000 in October of the same year. This surge coincided with his increased involvement with Al-Ahly in the CAF Champions League, contributing significantly to the team's run to the final and their subsequent crowning as champions for the twelfth time in the Red Fortress's history.

His market value continued rising through June 2025, reaching €800,000, coinciding with his inclusion in Al-Ahly's squad for the FIFA Club World Cup.

Shobeir's Market Value Reaches Its Peak

By January 2026, Mostafa Shobeir's market value reached €1 million, after successfully cementing his position in Al-Ahly's starting lineup alongside his appearances for the Egyptian national team at the Africa Cup of Nations.

The Al-Ahly goalkeeper continued his upward trajectory, with his value climbing to €1.2 million in March 2026, coinciding with his participation in Egypt's friendly matches preparing for the World Cup.

The biggest leap occurred in July 2026, when Mostafa Shobeir's market value hit €2 million—the highest of his career—coinciding with his participation alongside the Egyptian national team in the 2026 World Cup, where the Pharaohs advanced to the Round of 16.

In the Round of 16 match against Argentina, Shobeir delivered a standout performance despite Egypt's elimination from the tournament, notably saving a penalty kick taken by Argentine star Lionel Messi.
