Al-Ahly Club's channel commented on the crisis that arose between Hossam Hassan and Mohamed El-Shenawy, before the Dean issued new statements today, Monday, at the press conference ahead of the South Sudan match.
Hossam Hassan clarified that his statements prior to the Angola match were misunderstood, before emphasizing Mohamed El-Shenawy's technical merit.
Al-Ahly Channel Comments on Hossam Hassan's Statements
Ibrahim Monisi said in statements via Al-Ahly Channel: "Whoever thinks that the national team's crisis with Mohamed El-Shenawy or with public opinion has ended has not assessed the situation correctly; it could have serious repercussions as it revealed many issues."
He added: "It is liable to recur. We must pause to examine the details of the scene to prevent repetition and learn how to control its repercussions and consequences concerning Al-Ahly and its interests. The scapegoat always used to hang any talk causing a crisis—such as misunderstanding, translation errors—all this talk is nothing but an escape from confronting the root of the problem."
For his part, Adly El-Qieei, former contracts manager and ex-president of the football company at Al-Ahly Club, stated: "Actions are judged by intentions. We hope the problem stops here. Hossam tried to retract his inappropriate approach, and no one should exaggerate Al-Ahly Club's stance in supporting Hossam Hassan or any technical staff of the Egyptian national team."
He added: "However, if we do not understand the psychology behind what leads to what, crises will repeat. Hossam Hassan said about El-Shenawy that he was finished in the past but now has become good. So why bring up this history in the first place?"
