The Egyptian national team wrote the end of its journey in the 2026 World Cup tournament after a historic epic against Argentina, but it ended with a painful loss.

Hossam Hassan said in statements during the press conference: "I am very happy and thank all the players, the technical, administrative, and medical staff, and thank God that today we were a national technical staff and 23 or 24 local players facing the best players in the world."

He added: "We worked hard and were the best against the title holders in everything, but the result had influences that were not external but internal on the field and external before the match."

He continued: "It is clear that the pressures on the referee before the match from the Argentine side succeeded."

Hossam Hassan continued: "Not everything that goes right wins, we worked hard and all the foreign gentlemen present don't feel anything."

The Egyptian national team coach confirmed: "We had the right to win and I don't want to say hard luck for us, but we played honorably on our part and today's result has no respect or fair play, today there was a penalty for us and a goal was counted for the opponent but the VAR was there to cancel our goal."

He continued: "The world is still not fair not only in ordinary life but even in football there is no fair, I won't mince words and say good result for argentina, we were wronged by an actor and I assert that whoever sets the match schedules has nothing to do with football, at 12 you go out for a walk to get some air, is the player supposed to eat at 7:30 in the morning to play at 12?"

Hossam Hassan concluded his statements: "Today there are only two matches being played in knockout matches, why play at 12 noon? Who is this smart guy? I object and will not bury my head in the ground like an ostrich but I am proud of my team, my country, and my Arab identity and proud to be African and we are not getting our rights."
