Hossam Ashraf, a Zamalek player, stated that his team is capable of winning at any time against any opponent.
Zamalek continued its winning streak by defeating Suez Petrojet 2-1 in their match during the third round of the Egyptian Premier League.
Hossam Ashraf told On Sport: "Praise be to God for the victory; these three points are extremely important at the start of the league. I thank the Zamalek fans, our primary supporters, and I thank Motamed Gamal for his efforts with us after his late return to the training camp, though we fight hard in every match."
He added, "There are many matches ahead in the league as well as in multiple tournaments, and I hope to continue excelling and gaining more confidence from the fans."
He concluded, "The match against Suez Petrojet was very difficult, but we are Zamalek, and even if things don't go our way initially, we can still win at any moment."
Zamalek conceded their first goal of the current season after keeping clean sheets in their first two matches.
With this victory, Zamalek's tally rose to seven points, placing them second in the Egyptian Premier League standings.
On the other hand, Suez Petrojet remains without a win, having lost to Tala'ea El Gaish and Zamalek, and drawn with Assiut Petroleum.
Suez Petrojet currently occupies 15th place with just one point.
Hossam Ashraf reached his 21st goal in the Egyptian Premier League across all teams he has played for.
For the first time, Hossam Ashraf has scored in two consecutive matches for Zamalek, against National Bank of Egypt and then Suez Petrojet, after playing 41 games for the White Knights.
Hossam Ashraf has now scored his eighth goal for Zamalek in 41 appearances.
Ashraf scored his goal in the 40th minute with a brilliant header following a cross from Chico Banza.
