Hossam Abd El-Magid, the player who recently joined Bulgarian club Ludogorets, confirmed that he does not aim to return to the Egyptian Premier League in the near future.
Abd El-Magid had moved to Bulgarian club Ludogorets during the current summer transfer window, coming from Zamalek, marking his first professional step in Europe.
Returning to the Egyptian Premier League
Hossam Abd El-Magid said in statements to Al-Nahar Channel: "Is moving to the Bulgarian league just a bridge? I've heard this talk since news of my professional move to Bulgaria circulated, but thank God, I never thought about such a thing at all."
He added: "My ambition for the past three or four seasons was focused on playing professionally abroad, and once achieved, I held onto it. Those close to me can confirm this. However, the fans are excusable in their concerns because they aren't accustomed to seeing a player from the club go abroad and not return quickly."
Fans' Concerns
He continued: "Certainly, Mostafa Mohamed went abroad successfully, and praise be to God, He blessed him; he plays for a major European club and even transferred to another big one. However, generally speaking, the public isn't used to this continuous sequence."
He further stated: "Therefore, they are excusable for not having full confidence in my ability to join a major club and excel there, which would open doors for other youth players and teammates to pursue professional careers in Europe."
The international defender continued: "This wouldn't benefit only me, but also my teammates and the Egyptian national team. Instead of 3 or 4 players going abroad, perhaps 6 or 7 players could secure professional contracts in Europe."
Zamalek's Draw
Regarding Zamalek's draw against Al-Ittihad Alexandria in the first round of the new season, he said: "The players' situation is difficult and enviable by none. They started their preparation period late. During this time, fans should excuse the players because they didn't undergo an early preparation phase like other teams."
He elaborated: "Even here, I didn't start my preparation early since I joined the team late. However, the system here is completely different; a player cannot participate immediately or play a full 45 minutes. Instead, they gradually participate for 10 or 20 minutes."
He added: "The fans are excusable because they demand the championship from the very first match, considering the team as the league champion. The players are also excusable because they have been placed in a difficult position."
Hossam Abd El-Magid concluded his statements saying: "Zamalek players are great. Everyone witnessed what they delivered last year during critical times, achieving both the league and Confederation Cup titles. They are players capable of bearing responsibility and wearing the Zamalek jersey proudly for extended periods."
