Mohamed Hamad, the rising star of Zamalek Club, continued his impressive performance with the Egypt U-20 national team (born in 2010), under the guidance of head coach Wael Riad "Sheitos," attracting the attention of the White Castle's fans, who hope he will become one of the solutions for Al-Faras Al-Abyad's coach Maamoun Gamal.
From the League Cup to the Premier League... Hamad's journey at Zamalek
Hamad had received an opportunity to appear with Zamalek's first team since December last year, when he was promoted along with seven other youth players during coach Ahmed Abdel Raouf's tenure to participate in the League Cup tournament.
Hamad succeeded in convincing his coach Ahmed Abdel Raouf to earn a chance in the Egypt Cup, starting in the match against El-Mahalla Municipality, and also coming on as a substitute in the Egyptian Premier League against Ismailia Electricity, but under the new coach Maamoun Gamal.
Hamad was one of the prominent elements in the Egypt U-17 national team that participated in the World Cup in 2025, leading the White Team to insist on retaining him and extending his contract until 2029.
Hamad plays several positions, most notably as an attacking midfielder, whether as a playmaker or right winger. Although born in April 2008, he participates with the 2007 team in the Republic League due to his distinctive capabilities.
Started at Al-Ahly... How did Mohamed Hamad move to Zamalek?
Hamad began his career at Al-Ahly Club, but moved to Zamalek because of his mother, who supports the White Team and encouraged him to take trials, leading coach Ahmed Rizq to sign him for the White Castle in 2016.
Hamad maintained his presence within Zamalek's first team, coming on as a substitute against Al-Ittihad Al-Sakandary in the first round, and also undergoing a trial period with Portuguese club Benfica at the beginning of last September.
Zamalek's talent shines with the Youth National Team
Hamad returned to shine through the Youth National Team, during his participation in the North African qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations finals for youth teams.
Hamad earned the trust of his coach Wael Riad Sheitos, participating as a starter in the matches against Libya and Tunisia. He scored Egypt's second goal against Libya with a precise header, before shining against Tunisia by winning a penalty kick from which the Pharaohs scored their first goal, before adding the second goal himself.
Zamalek fans hope that Hamad will succeed in providing offensive added value to the White Castle's squad, helping coach Maamoun Gamal amid the shortage in the right wing position.
