Veszprém head coach Xavi Pascual confirmed the readiness of goalkeeper Emil Nielsen to play against Barcelona in the IHF Super Globe final.

Nielsen had missed Veszprém's last group stage match due to a stomach ailment, but he has recovered well and is now ready to face his former team in the final.

Pascual told Mundo Deportivo: "Nielsen will play 100%, there are no doubts."

He explained, "He wasn't able to join the group training, but he did some individual work and will definitely play."

He revealed, "We'll see if he plays the full match or how we manage it, but as soon as we can, we'll use him."

Nielsen joined Veszprém during the summer transfer window from Barcelona, becoming one of the club's key signings ahead of the new season.

Pascual praised the Danish goalkeeper's level, saying: "Emil isn't just a great goalkeeper now; it has been clear for a long time that he would be an exceptional player. However, he still has much more to give us, as he is still adapting, and the change isn't easy."

He concluded: "Nielsen gives us a lot of security and we trust him greatly, but we don't rely on him alone; we have other strengths. It is obvious that he helps us a lot because he is currently the best goalkeeper in the world, and his presence is always a guarantee, but that doesn't ensure victory in any match."

Veszprém continued their winning streak by securing victories in all three of their group stage matches.

After defeating Al Ahly, German side Füchse Berlin, and Kuwaiti club Burgan.

Veszprém will face Spanish side Barcelona in the IHF Super Globe final.

Veszprém includes four Egyptian internationals in its squad: Ali Zein, Yahia El-Deraa, Ahmed Adel "Dola," and Ahmed Hesham "Dodo."

Meanwhile, Barcelona features Seif El-Deraa.
