Media reports have revealed that Josko Gvardiol signed a new contract with Manchester City in the last few hours, before announcing the player's continuation with the "Sky Blues" in the upcoming period.
According to Florian Plettenberg, Sky Sport journalist, the player's agent arrived with him in Manchester today, Monday, before a new contract was signed for Gvardiol to continue with the team until 2031.
He added in a post on his official "X" account: "The new contract signed by the player with Manchester City includes a significant salary increase, and the deal will be announced soon".
Earlier English press reports indicated that the player had completed all procedures for his continuation with Manchester City, as Gvardiol is considered one of the team's most prominent players since joining them from Leipzig in 2023.
The player's contract was set to run until June 2028, at a time when Enzo Maresca insists on the player's continuation and sees that he will have a significant impact on the team's performance in the upcoming stage, contributing to many anticipated achievements.
In another context, Manchester City wants to regain the English Premier League title in the new season, after Arsenal won it last season.
This comes amid Maresca's insistence on continuing the achievements of Pep Guardiola with the team, before his departure after an era full of domestic and European titles.
