Pep Guardiola, the former manager of Manchester City, is planning a surprise return to the "Etihad" Stadium in a gesture aimed at supporting his former club during its crisis with the Premier League.

City has been facing a major crisis since being found guilty by an independent commission on all charges related to breaches of the Premier League's financial regulations between 2009 and 2018.

Guardiola supports Manchester City

According to the British newspaper "Express," Guardiola is expected to attend City's upcoming home match against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on October 14.

The veteran Spanish coach informed senior officials at the Sky Blues of his desire to be present with the fans.

Guardiola had resigned from his position as manager of the Sky Blues at the end of last season and is currently taking a break in Barcelona, away from the world of football.

Guardiola achieved historic success by winning 20 titles in just 10 years; however, his legacy will now be negatively affected because some of his successes occurred during the period under investigation.

Guardiola was responsible for leading the team technically throughout the four-year investigation period, where he was repeatedly questioned about the matter, but he insisted that club officials assured him there were no violations.

Guardiola posted a message of support for his former club, which he managed between 2016 and 2026, via social media, stating: "I want every Manchester City fan around the world to know that I am here, more than ever."

He added: "I have always supported, do support, and will always support my club, its owner, its chairman, and Ferran Soriano."
