Gamal Abdel Hamid: Salah deserves special treatment, and Hossam Hassan was wrong

Via Yallakora

Gamal Abdel Hamid, the former star of Zamalek and the Egyptian national team, directed sharp criticism at Hossam Hassan, the head coach of the Egyptian national team, due to his management style regarding certain files and his handling of media interactions, noting that Mohamed Salah, the Pharaohs' star, deserved special treatment.

Abdel Hamid affirmed, during his remarks on the "Al-Defender" program broadcast on Al-Shams Blue Channel, that Mohamed Salah holds an exceptional status on the global stage, stating: "Mohamed Salah is a global icon and deserves special treatment; it is not acceptable to say he was substituted for technical reasons."

The former Egyptian national team star criticized statements that diminish the importance of the Pharaohs' captain, adding: "It is not permissible for Hossam Hassan to say about Mohamed Salah that 'we have 120 million people and the Egyptian national team does not rely on anyone.'"

Regarding Hossam Hassan, Abdel Hamid said: "Hossam Hassan is lucky in football and tactics, but unlucky in speech. He should have leveraged the World Cup achievement by controlling his statements, giving players their due credit for the World Cup, and avoiding talking about himself."

He concluded: "Hossam Hassan made 70 mistakes, and luck served him. Had it not been for Ibrahim Hassan, Hossam would have made even more errors. I wish Ibrahim Hassan would appear at press conferences instead of Hossam."
