The veteran Ivorian star Franck Kessié has decided on his next destination in football, following interest from several clubs to sign him after his departure from Saudi Al-Ahli this summer.
Kessié played for Saudi Al-Ahli over the last three seasons, winning several major titles, most notably the AFC Champions League Elite twice, before becoming a free agent.
Kessié is close to joining the Italian league
According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Franck Kessié wishes to return to Italy and has made Juventus his top choice this summer.
After ending his stint with Al-Ahli, the 29-year-old Ivorian midfielder became a free agent and is currently not considering any other offers, as Juventus remains keen on strengthening its midfield.
The presence of sporting director Federico Massara, who has known Kessié since they played together at Milan, could influence negotiations by facilitating the completion of the deal.
Returning to the Italian league holds special significance for Kessié, who spent seven years in Italy playing for Cesena, Atalanta, and Milan.
Following spells at Barcelona and then in Saudi Arabia, the Ivorian has just completed three seasons with Al-Ahli, during which he won two AFC Champions League titles and the Saudi Super Cup.
However, Juventus needs to make room in its midfield, given the imminent departure of Brazilian Arthur Melo, along with the necessity of another midfielder leaving before finalizing Kessié's arrival.
