Real Madrid achieved a resounding victory over their counterpart Leganes with four goals to one, during the closed friendly match that brought them together this Tuesday evening as part of the summer preparations for the new season.
The Royal team showed clear football features under the leadership of its Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho in his second term, and in the presence of some of the team's international stars returning from the World Cup holiday.
Real Madrid entered the match with a starting lineup that saw Federico Valverde carrying the captain's armband, alongside Eduardo Camavinga and Arda Guler in midfield, with a tactic based on the (4-2-3-1) method, according to the Spanish newspaper "Marca".
Mourinho's artistic imprint was evident from the first minutes through reliance on tight individual marking in the defense line, with the implementation of quick high pressing after gaining possession of the ball, and continuous offensive movements across the flanks through the promising Franco Mastantuono.
Valverde opened the scoring for the Royals after a precise decisive pass from Guler which he placed with a ground shot into the net, before the striker Gonzalo added the second goal following a cross from Trent Alexander-Arnold which he received with a header and followed it perfectly over Leganes' goalkeeper.
Despite the opponent's lack of threat, Leganes managed to reduce the difference before the end of the first half through their player Naim with a powerful shot that hit the post and settled into the net of goalkeeper Andriy Lunin.
In the second half, the Royal Club continued its offensive superiority by increasing the pressure; where Mastantuono added the third goal after exploiting a ball that bounced from a shot by Arnold, then the defender Pulido returned and scored the fourth goal by mistake into his own net in favor of Real Madrid.
The final minutes witnessed Mourinho introducing many elements from the youth regions and the academy to give them the opportunity, continuing to draw the final features of his team before the official start of the season.
