Former Bulgaria coach nears leading Zamalek in the new season

Via Btolat

The management of Zamalek Club, headed by Hussein Labib, is close to completing a contract with a foreign Bulgarian technical director, to take over the task of coaching the first football team, during the new sports season, instead of Moataz Gamal.

Informed sources stated in exclusive statements to Batoulat today, Sunday, that the Bulgarian Evelio Petev, former coach of the Bulgarian and Bosnia and Herzegovina national teams, is close to taking over the coaching of Zamalek in the upcoming season.

This comes after reaching a semi-final agreement between the former coach of Dynamo Zagreb and Saudi Al-Qadsiah, and the football management at Zamalek Club, in the last hours.

Petev took over the coaching of the Bulgarian Ludogorets, and achieved 6 historic titles with it, including the Bulgarian League 3 times, and the Bulgarian Cup twice, and also coached Emirati Bani Yas, in addition to the Bulgarian national team and the Bosnia national team.

Zamalek Club management has settled on not keeping Gamal Moataz at the head of the team's technical staff, during the upcoming season, despite him leading the team to win the Egyptian Premier League title and reaching the final of the African Confederation.
