Football Association responds to Al Ahly: No changes to the referees committee

A source inside the Egyptian Football Association denied any intention to make changes to the referees committee in the coming period after Al-Ahly Club's statement.

Al-Ahly Club had expressed its concern regarding the appointment of Essam Abdel Fattah as head of the referees committee for the next season, denouncing the statements of Hani Abu Rida, the head of the association (Read the full statement).

Football Association: No changes to the referees committee

The source added in his statements to Yallakora that the Football Association manages the system impartially regardless of any pressures, and there is nothing that necessitates making adjustments to the referees committee, especially since the season has not started.

Regarding the comment on increasing the number of African seats, he commented saying: "The Football Association always seeks the public interest regardless of the colors of the T-shirts."

He continued: "The Football Association tried to increase the number of African seats for the benefit of Egyptian football in general, but in the end these attempts did not succeed."

The Football Association, headed by Hani Abu Rida, announced the appointment of Essam Abdel Fattah as head of the referees committee, succeeding the Colombian Oscar Ruiz.
