Al-Ahli Jeddah is working to settle the position of its new coach after the departure of Matthias Jaissle in preparation for his move to Newcastle United.
The Saudi team is seeking to sign Spanish coach Marcelino Toral, former Villarreal coach.
According to Foot Mercato newspaper, negotiations are advanced between Al-Ahli Jeddah and the Spanish coach to take charge of the team in the upcoming period.
The report indicates that the Saudi team offered the Spanish coach a two-season contract with a salary of up to 12 million euros per season.
According to the report, the Spanish coach agreed to the offer but stipulates that he be allowed to bring his entire technical staff with him.
Marcelino began his coaching career with the Spanish team Lealtad, with his most prominent coaching stints at Sevilla and Villarreal in two periods, as well as coaching Valencia and Athletic Bilbao alongside Olympique Marseille.
Al-Ahli Jeddah finished last season's league in third place with 81 points.
The team won the AFC Champions League Elite title last season.
