Al-Ahly Bank secured its first victory in the Egyptian Premier League this season by defeating Assiut Petroleum 1-0 in the third round of the competition, in a match held at Borg El Arab Stadium in Alexandria.

The winning goal for Al-Ahly Bank came via an own goal by Mahmoud Awkal, a defender for Assiut Petroleum.
Al-Ahly Bank scored the goal in the 74th minute through a shot by Rashad El-Motawalli that struck defender Mahmoud Awkal, deflecting into the net.
With this victory, Al-Ahly Bank earned its first three points of the season, while Assiut Petroleum remained stuck on two points following draws with Smouha and Suez Montakhab Petrojet.
In the fourth round, Al-Ahly Bank will face Ghazl El-Mahalla, while Assiut Petroleum will play against Al-Ittihad Alexandria.
