According to what FilGoal.com learned, Al Ahly has decided not to strengthen the goalkeeper position in the team, regardless of the situation of Mustafa Shobeir, the main goalkeeper.
Al Ahly will not conclude any deal in the goalkeeper position, even if Mustafa Shobeir turns professional abroad.
Al Ahly's current list in the goalkeeper position includes Mohamed El Shenawy, the veteran goalkeeper, along with Mustafa Shobeir, the main goalkeeper for Al Ahly and the Egyptian national team recently, in addition to Mohamed Seha and Hamza Alaa, the former Olympic team goalkeepers, and Mustafa Makhlouf after the end of his loan to Modern Sport.
Al Ahly began its preparation period for the new season under the leadership of Hussein Ammouta, but without the international players, who will join successively after the end of their vacation following the World Cup finals. The second phase of preparation will then begin in Spain at the end of July.
The preparation period in Spain may include a friendly match against Barcelona in the Joan Gamper Cup on August 19, which Al Ahly and Barcelona are expected to announce in the coming days.
